Here we are in front of Marilyn & Chris' house with all their pumpkins. Don't we look like we came from Sweden or something. Would you like us to Yodel?
We had a great week. Christopher's brother, Tim, came for a visit and ended up staying longer than expected, because of inclement weather. But we were happy to have him. Tim and Chris stayed up way past their bedtime playing games or watching movies, ya know, doing boy things. I was glad they got some time to spend together.
But, mostly, I think that Charlotte enjoyed spending time with Tim. As soon as she would wake up she would say, "Tim, go?" She just loves that kid. We are so glad that he came for a visit and can't wait to see him again around Christmas time. Char will be awaiting some play time...
I got another job designing gift bags for Target. I am grateful for the work. I know that there are many without work, and yet the Lord continues to bless us with work. How grateful I am! I have been busily working on that.
Chris has been trying to fix things up around the house and also paint our credenza. We found it at the DI for only $30. We are painting it black. I'll make sure to post some before and after pictures once it's complete. But, I can already say it looks a TON better!
Friday night, we went to the Ward Chili cook-off and trunk or treating. They had it outside at a pavilion. It was freezing!!! So, we only stayed for one hour and they still hadn't started the trunk or treating. We found one trunk open and took Char over there to get her one piece of candy. She chose a Snickers, and ate most of it on the 2 minute drive home. She had a blast running around with all of the other kids who were playing tag football. I thought for sure that she would get run over. But the kids watched out for her. One little girl even helped Char get up, after many failed attempts by herself. So sweet.
Yesterday, for Halloween, we went over to Aunt Marilyn's for BBQ beef and homemade root beer. Delicious! All of the other children had gone to Mary's ward for trick-or-treating, so we went out with just us and Uncle Chris to scour their neighborhood. It was fun to see some people from our old ward. Char wasn't sure what to expect. But she did walk right in the first few homes. I had to catch her. And she loved picking out a piece of candy. Then she would say "Tank you Marilyn". I don't know why she decided to say that at the end of Thank you, but she did. So cute! Then, once she got the hang of what were doing, she would go right up, grab a piece of candy and if they said she could have another one, she would grab another one! At the end, when someone would open the door she would wave and say "Hi" really excited like. It was so cute! What can I say. Everyone enjoyed our costumes. They were a blast to make. The best part being that it only cost me $6 this year for costumes! Hurray!
Then after an hour of walking around the neighborhood, we decided it would be best to head back to Aunt Marilyns, where Char dove into the candy. She had a sugar cookie, rootbeer, two fun-size M&M's packages, and a couple of caramels. She was wired!!! She was literally running off the walls and we even got a video of her "dancing"! I'll make sure to get it from Uncle Chris and post it another day. So funny!
Char and all the loot! Already digging into it!
I was surprised that Char even went to bed when she did. No whining, nothing. She must have had a literal "CRASH" from all that sugar.
It's hard to believe that it's November already. I'm just glad that Thanksgiving is almost here, then I will get to see my family. I miss them so much, especially after seeing Chris' family. I have been tempted to hop in the car and drive home a few times, but jobs around the house keep me here.
I hope that each of us can keep a heart of gratitude this Fall Season, as we remember all that the Lord has blessed us with. And remember to thank Him for all of our many blessings. How blessed we are to have the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives.
May each of you have a great Sabbath Day!
Much love,
The Grayson's :o)
